picture for Aunt Amy

Such a serious little guy. He's wearing a hand-me-down shirt from Elena with Aunt Amy's alma matter - US Naval Academy.

Zachary at the zoo

Of course he just slept through the whole adventure... We're both loving the Ergo carrier!

LOTS of cute Z pics

Elena thought Zachary eating the pony's hair was hilarious!Love the one-eyed-squint of concentration.
Trying to get the thumb in the mouth.

Zachary has been rubbing his head as a soothing method and now has thinning hair on both sides of his head.
Loving his mommy!
Are we done with the flash yet?

Zachary and his silky dog. Eh?

BIG smile!

me at the zoo

Zachary was in the front pack for most of the day - he kept warm and dry for his nap at the zoo...Eventually he did wake up and got to see the zoo from the stroller.
Here's the Jaguar. Wow! What a big kitty!
Another big animal - grizzly bears!
Hopefully Zachary will grow to enjoy animals as much as his big sister.

Another pony lover in the family

At Sophia's birthday party today, there were ponies for the kids to ride. We thought Zachary was much too young for a ride, but he was invited to participate!
At first Zachary didn't much care for it - maybe the smell was off-putting... But after a moment, he decided it was ok.
Then, when we switched him to a side-saddle position, he cracked a little smile.

"Where'd you get such a tan baby?"

We actually hear that question a lot. And there is no way Zachary's coloring is a tan from sun exposure. He must have inherited the Eastern European skin tone from his grandfathers...
Jim calls this sleeveless one-piece Zachary's tough guy thug outfit. Zachary still sleeps a lot.
His dreams must be pleasant.
Pretty sure this outfit is from Nana and PopPop. He looks like such a little man in it - so cute! The cream and khaki are a nice change from all the blue...

Zachary @ 2 months

Little guy isn't so little anymore... At his 2 month check-up on Tuesday, his weight was 13lbs (75th percentile), 22 1/2 inches (25th percentile) long, and head circumference of 15 1/2 inches (30th percentile). He loves to give smiles and have his cheeks tickled (Elena is the best at this). Zachary has slept 6 hours straight a couple nights now, and we're looking forward to more of this.
For receiving 5 shots, 1 oral vaccine, and a blood draw, he didn't give too many tears and was easily consoled. He had to have his blood drawn for a base bili count. With a history of Gilbert's Syndrome in the family, his doctor wants to make sure that is the reason for his yellow hue and that his bili count stays low.
Zachary enjoys his tummy time and being held - by anyone! Auntie Tracy says this is a Gemini trait that appeases his need to be the center of attention. His swing and bouncy seat are enjoyable napping places because they are portable (somehow he can sense when he's alone in the room and wakes up...). Zachary also enjoys sucking on his fist and taking showers and baths.

Here's Zachary "talking." Can you hear Elena singing in the background?

GIZMO!

Uncle Brandon came with Auntie Tracy and they brought their puppy, Gizmo! Gizmo loved Zachary, his first baby. He kept giving kisses and trying to get Zachary to play.

It was so funny when Gizmo tried to give Zachary his toy to throw! Gizmo got spooked by Zachary's swing and kept trying to steal his toys - little stinker!

Lovin' the Ladies

Zachary has met quite a few gals in the past week...

Here he is with Erin who was visiting from Honduras.
We had dinner at Maria's house and she got to hold the naked baby.
Auntie Tracy surprised us with a visit - she adores her new nephew.
At Grandma's retirement party, Zachary was the hotter than the homemade salsa!
Here he is with Maria's mom, Wanda.

Auntie Terry coaxes a smile.
Lisa and Zachary get cozy.

Jessica takes Zachary under the gazebo to escape the rain.

Kennewick visit

Zachary made his first trip to Kennewick this week! We went to celebrate Nattie's 4th birthday and stayed with Nana and PopPop.
Zachary enjoyed the wind. And he enjoyed PopPop (the feeling was mutual).
Elena enjoyed taking him down the slide.
Since Daddy was working, the kiddos got to sleep in the big bed with Mommy (who took a couple pictures of her sleeping cuties).
Oooh! Zachary must be having a happy little dream - see his smirk?!?
Thanks for a great visit everyone!
